For those looking for a 7' two piece that will handle cobia and the like.

I don't know about y'all but I have a hard finding a nice 2 piece salt water rod. Of course I'm prejudiced against them for serious fishing. Maybe that is why I haven't found much, you think:)

That said, I have been looking to add 2 piece blanks to the arsenal. So I took a chance on one despite the ratings (I have too many 8-15# and 12-25# blanks if that is possible). Glad I did as it exceeded my expectations.

Anyhow, check out the NFC 708-2. They call it a 12-25# but I don't think you'd argue if they called it 15-40#. From cobia to snook/jack/kingfish/dolphin/wahoo......if you think you can do it with 30# mono I think this blank will work for you. Just a little slower than a fast action with big fat butt you can lean into. Reminds me of some of the old school rods I miss.

Russell,

American Tackle has a new line of blanks called the Bushido 3K 2pc series. They are 8' (30-50) or 8'6" (15-30 & 20-40) I have build up one in the 15-30 and can't wait to try it out on and inshore trip off the Washinton/Oregon Coast!
