Looking for advise, I have a set of Fugi (stamped on #30) single foot guides with black ring and glossy black frame. Size 30,25,20,16,12,10, 8,7,7,7. I believe these are Fuji Alconite, but when I check the vendors (4) catalogs there is no #7 guide listed. Did they stop making #7 or do I have the wrong ring material. If I had to make a guess I think these are BLVAG.

I don't think the site will help with old guides like these. But an email to Fuji info might bear fruit.

You are sure they are 7's? V type and not Y type, right?

Black and silver guide finishes have been discontinued by Fuji and replaced with their dark grey (BC) and matte silver (CC) corrosion control finishes. The old Fuji LV guides use to go down to a size 6, but I’m not sure if the LV frames are still available. The 2020 Aglers Resource catalog does not list LV guides. The LV guides were old non-concept guides, and have probably been replaced with the New Guide Concept LY reduction guides which go down to a size 8L, with L guides being used as the running guides, which go down to a size 4. The NGC can also use the tangle free KL guides for the reduction guides and KT/KB guides as runners. The more recent Fuji KR concept uses high frame small ring KL-H guides for the reduction guides and KT/KB guides for running guides. So if you want more Fuj LV guides you might be out of luck. However, other companies still make and sell V type guides which are a close match. Most rod builders these days use either the NGC or the KR concept guides on the rods they build.

While certainly not a veteran such as Norman, it seems to me your best approach would be to save the “SV” guides for repair of COF builds; they were very popular in their day and consequently the need for replacement is almost certain to arise; you have a stock of NLA /NOS guides = use it to your (and customer’s) advantage. Use a modern guide approach such as NGC or KR Concept for your present builds and save the SVs for repairing or restoration of an old-school rod. While possibly not the main concern, NLA / NOS = >$.
