Guide Spacing - Fly Rod

I am Building a 9' 8wt MHX Fly rod (Mudhole Turn-Key Kit) first build. I will be using the rod for light saltwater application. I have read and watched youtube videos on guide spacing but am wanting to see if there are any other theories that I may have missed. Just trying to be efficient as possible with this build. Thank you in advance.

The "best" guide spacing varies with the diameter and flexibility of the line being used. Best spacing even varies with ambient temperature, which makes a noticeable difference in fly line flexibility. You can try to "tune" your guide spacing to a particular environment and line. I copy the spacing used by company-built rods with guides spaced for general use. BTW: I think you will be pleased with the rod blank you have selected.
