I few weeks back I ordered a NFC rod from a company I have used frequently. I received the rod a week or so ago and it was snapped in two. Not only was the rod broken the package was so badly treated it arrived in two pieces. The company was great and immediately sent me another. I receive it today broken in two pieces. So I am about to go through the whole process again. What a hassle! The USPS must be totally incompetent. Re: Speaking of broken rods...

I ship in PVC pipe. Never had a problem. Recently shipped a 2 piece 12 foot surf rod from Port Angeles, WA to Kingstown, Rhode Island. USPS. Arrived safely. Used a 77 inch length of 4 inch PVC drain pipe with caps.
Talk to your supplier. Demand they use PVC pipe. Batson and Pac Bay also use the white PVC drain pipe, tells us something. Re: Speaking of broken rods...

Danny,
I have had a FedEx account for quite a few years = they were a tic cheaper, quicker and possibly more careful with my shipments than UPS. Even with a FedEx account, in the last 2 years I have discovered USPS to be considerably cheaper and quicker yet, hence, have been employing their services. I have never experienced a problem with USPS so I do not know what to say (other than thanks for allowing USPS to damage your shipments instead of mine) lol !!! May I suggest you NOT purchase a Lotto ticket for a while. All jesting aside, I think you were simply and extremely unlucky. While it may be a PITA, at least you are not out any money. Third time's a charm! Mark Talmo FISHING IS NOT AN ESCAPE FROM LIFE BUT RATHER A DEEPER IMMERSION INTO IT!!! BUILDING YOUR OWN SIMPLY ENHANCES THE EXPERIENCE. Re: Speaking of broken rods...

I’ve moved several times in the last few years. I’ve lived in a couple of locations where a majority of my USPS deliveries were left crushed at my door. In other places, this was rare to nonexistent. A local postal employee told me it wasn’t them, that everything they get that goes through Memphis is destroyed and very late arriving. I currently have bad luck with packages getting diverted in Portland. One blank went through Portland from Florida, and instead of it getting to me in rural Oregon, it wound up in New Hampshire. Not a single digit of the zip code was the same, and neither the town or state names had any similarities.
It seems that there are locations with problems at the final point of delivery and some regional centers with issues. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
