What's best CTS b;ank fot King Dalmon?

I have a potential customer fot a canal rod. The power canal in Sault Ste Marie, Mi, is 20 foot deep, an 8th mile wide, with a continuous 7 MPH current. It holds whitefish, carp, King salmon. coho,, and the occasional lake trout, and steelhead. The rod needs to be strong enough to pill in a King against that current, maybe lifting it up an embankment. The rod will be either a spin cast, or bait casting rod.

What are your recommendations?

Tight Lies and frisky fish

I'm thinking 6 to 7 foot, equivalent of an 8 weight fly rod.

Bob,
Must be much more robust than an 8wt fly rod.
I'm thinking a custom blank I built for my son for deep bottom fishing in the ocean for big Tautog over ocean wreaks - 7'6" #5 power CTS BayMaster. He uses it as a baitcaster - but can be spin.
If you think he may want a little softer rod - the 4 power or even the 3 power
Herb

My personal choice would be a salmon backbounce blank.
