Not curing hard. Remaining tacky. Cloudy. Prone to crack under use. There is a long list of issues that can usually be traced back to a failure to utilize the "best practices" as stated by the manufacturers. It is possible to get good results with less, but rarely if ever do you find someone who follows all the best practices and has anything less than good results.

Of course, what any particular builder wishes to do is up to them.

This particular builder has had Zero issues. As I said "go for it". What works for me may not work for others.

I've mixed down to 1 CC of each using Flex Coat Lite. First coat on the rod, I mixed 2 CC each, second coat 1.5 CC and 1 CC for the third and last coat. Rod was a short 6' with short split grip, nothing fancy. Epoxy cured as it should for each coat.

I use the syringes to measure. I always thought I was just wasting the epoxy when I mixed 3 CC of each and would have more left over then I used on the rod.

Maybe I'll rethink my practices, but I haven't had any issues when I've mixed less.
