Thanks Jim.
Off you go. Actually, no you can't, I like discussions like this with you. I'm buggering around with a rod for myself at the moment: 14'6 5-7oz, 60T carbon 3 piece blank. Propper casting machine. Right now its taped up with LC20 LC16 KW12 (x9) set up, all in Ti SiC (yes I know I can go smaller, but how do turn down a gift of 9x KW12's in Ti Sic and let them sit un-used in a cupboard? Ultimately I'd like to upgrade to RV25 RV16 KW12M to the KW12's, but $$$, it will have to wait. As it is currently set up I have managed about 220 yards with a 4.25oz sinker (no bait) with an Ultegra 14k spool with 30lb braid and 65lb braid leader Same set up with a small multipler is ridiculously fun. I think distances like that must have something to do with the equator, Brandon. There must be less gravity on the south side of it. Re: Anglers Resource Guide Placement Software *HELP*

We are upsidedown like the Aussies. so really sinkers fall that far as a matter of course Re: Anglers Resource Guide Placement Software *HELP*

Wow, I've just started building surf rods and I have learned more from this thread than any other place on the 'net. I fish casting rods and my one track mind on guide trains has been severely jolted about braid differences vs mono with spinning outfits. Again, this site is the bomb. I want to succeed in surf rod building (and selling, of course) and my main competition in the area sells surf rods (and they are not too cheap) that can you can use a spinning reel or casting reel. Yea, that had me thinking something was amiss. This thread clearly explains why no two rod and reel combinations for just a spinning reel, let alone a combo rod can be alike. And you surely shouldn't even consider making a rod for both casting and spinning, which I never have anyways. I knew using the NGC method for spinning reels was a game changer but this takes it to a whole new level of squeezing all you can out of your casing distance. Thanks for all the info Chris, I will save this thread. Re: Anglers Resource Guide Placement Software *HELP*

So, am I wrong thinking like that? I just assumed but sometimes that is a fault of mine. Re: Anglers Resource Guide Placement Software *HELP*

Well, it will depend on how the spinner is set up.
Lets say I used RV25 RV16 KW10M and then 6 (or even 7) running guides (KT's KW's LKW's) on a 10' 1-4oz and set it up for a Saragosa 6000 and 30lb braid, you would be hard pressed to get it to perform better with a more main-stream set up for a conventional reel Edited 1 time(s). If you built the spinner with say 6 guides.... not it would not be so nice with a convench Re: Anglers Resource Guide Placement Software *HELP*
