Went big time and skipped the notched cardboard box with heavy dictionary: About 1968. It still hangs on the shop wall.

You went big time alright , why so extravagant ? I also decided to go all out and picked up an already notched cardboard box & saved a ton by going with my own phone book , dictionary was too pricey .

Ah yes, Herters! One of my favorites. "Finest Procureable Quality" I bought just about everything from Herters. For a long time. Still have a Herters glass fly rod I built in 1962.

Handy thing to have in the tackle box on longer trips. Also tip cement and a lighter.
