Thrasher blanks

Has anyone built on a Thrasher blank. I am building a 6' jigging rod and had a strong recommendation for this blank. I am planning on using a high rise 2 footed stripper guide a bumper, and #8 runners in a spiral wrap. I was thinking 20-12-8-8-8-8. Any thoughts or recommendations on this setup? Re: Thrasher blanks

I'd probably go with 16 and then 8's on out. If you put a rub prevention guide (bumper) on, use whatever sits closest to the blank but permits free line flow.

Thanks Tom for the suggestions. I considered starting with a 16, but was warned to make sure to use a large enough stripper to avoid having trouble with the line touching the large fore grip. I will know more after receiving the rod and doing a static test. From those I have seen, I suspect the stripper guide will be only a few inches above the grip. The bumper guide suggestion also makes sense.
Thanks again Re: Thrasher blanks

Yeah, that's always a consideration. A 20 and 16 won't cost much. Buy both and set them up and see how things look.
