Don't know if you use something different on the east coast, but on the west coast we build a good number of stand up rods on the Batson RSU series.

What are you looking to catch and what is the technique? Will you be trolling in a rod holder and then fighting the fish standing up? Or will you be be holding the rod and free lining a live bait? Or maybe you will be jigging, or working a lure?

Most fish in SE Florida can be handled with a lower (and longer) powered blank. FWIW the one stand up blank I built has seen so little use I might as well put it in the trash. A 15-30# / 20-40#, 7 foot composite live bait blank and a 7 foot 8-17#/ / 15-30# 100% graphite spin jig blank covers most of my needs,

Swordfish and high speed trolling for Wahoo would be the outliers. In my area there are so few Marlin and big Tuna I don't even factor them in the build recipe.

Charles I would take the time and look at some of the ATXGC series. I find that it serves as a fantastic blank in that 30-50lb range. It has enough sensitivity to feel those mangrove snapper, lane, and vermillion bites but strong enough to change the direction of a fish surging to the structure. Those grouper, big red snapper, cobia, and aj's don't stand a chance.
