Hi:I searched the library and found no mention.
I have some Guterman silk thread I would like to use. Is preserver necessary? Re: Silk color preserver?Necessary?

Not necessary but the same darkening, transparency effect will take place if you don't use CP on silk as it does on nylon.

With silk, it is actually more transparent than nylon. If you want it to not darken and become transparent then use the CP. You may want to do a test piece with and without to see what you prefer. If you grind the feet of the guides and you do not use CP, you want them to look symmetric because you will be able to see them through the silk. I like the color silk turns without CP, it is totally different than before the epoxy is applied. Re: Silk color preserver?Necessary?

I use Al's silk CP for everything, seems to fend off the blotches better then others on the market now. Re: Silk color preserver?Necessary?

Not all CP's work equally well on silk, bets to test. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
