I am tasked to build a rod that has the 4 different major sports teams from Philadelphia. Each team has different colors. Getting the logos wouldnt be a problem. Understanding what kind of color scheme to use, now thats a problem. Anyone deal with a nightmare like that?

If all the logos are the same size you can do just the stripes and put the logo over it, then 2 or 3 wraps of a neutral color then the next team colors with logo on top, 2 or 3 more wraps of the neutral color.... so forth and so-on.

What base colors? Orange, red, black, and green?

As Robert stated I would put the base colors down in a butt wrap on a split grip or just beyond the reel seat before the first guide on a one piece handle. Just wrap the base color and a separating color between each one. Put one coat over the thread and let it dry then apply decals and apply another coat.

Thanks. Not a bad idea. Could maybe alternate colors on the guide wraps too...

I would put decals on near the winding check. For tem colors, I would use double foot guides with one side as 1/2 of the team colors, and the other foot wrapped with thread of the second color. Wrap every other guide with team colors, and the other guides with a neutral color.
