I enjoy using the CCS, it’s all about numbers, without numbers we have nothing.
All said and done, the bottom line is FEEL? This is what I do, with rod and line I go out in my yard and do some roll casting, I start with 10 ft, 20 ft, than 30 ft. If I don’t get that feeling, I change line size and try again. I always put the guides on the natural curve, this puts the spine on to top for doing the roll cast, forward cast. If you don’t believe it just rotate your rod with guides on top and try again? When I get that FEELING, the line rolls out in a perfect circle, I’m done . BUT, this all depends on how one FEEELS at the time, I do this for three days, give it a try? Before you ask, how does that rod FEEL, I ask myself, how do you FEEL? Any thoughts on ones FEELING would be appreciated, stan. Mega thanks to Tom for making the CCS possible. Re: feeling

Feeling and performance frequently go hand-in-hand, yet except for a loose tip-top or ferrule all fly rods are equally accurate . This leaves distance as the measurable variable in a rod's performance. If I can't get a fly rod to cast 70' I don't give a hoot how nice it feels. Re: feeling

Stan,
Since you put so much feeling into feeling, do you perform CCF measuring as well? Mark Talmo FISHING IS NOT AN ESCAPE FROM LIFE BUT RATHER A DEEPER IMMERSION INTO IT!!! BUILDING YOUR OWN SIMPLY ENHANCES THE EXPERIENCE. Re: feeling

I had a boss in engineering one time tell me that engineers don't "feel." They have data. And only God can come without data. When I hear so much emphasis on "feeling," I think of wine labels and fly rod advertisements. Don't forget to thank Dr. Hanneman. If you read about him you'll find he accomplished so much not only with CCS but with many other rigorous endeavors. Re: feeling

Yes Mark I enjoy using CCF. What i do is use acid free solder, weigh it on a gram a scale
and wrap it around the TT. Also mega thanks to Dr. Hanneman. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
