Nfc 709 vs 739 action

I noticed the nfc 739-im is listed as fast action whereas the 709 is mod-fast. I like the way the 709 bends in my ccs testing.... anyone know if the slightly longer 739 is similar and just mislabelled? The 709 had an approx 68 degree AA. Thanks!

Because the 73 is longer, it could very likely have the exact same tip profile, but because it is three inches longer it would be classified as a faster actioned blank.

Darwin, if you look in the Xray section you will see they offer I SJ765, SJ725, and SJ685. The 5.5 tip size is the same on all. The butt size goes from 0.63" down to 0.56".

I didn't respond earlier as I don't have your blanks. I do have the Xray 7109. I would call it moderate fast but wouldn't disagree if someone else called it fast.

I think Spencer hit the nail on the head. Based off the blanks you named, using the IM series as a reference, ( I have a rod built on the MB 709 IM blank and love it) the tip size listed for the 739 is slightly smaller than the tip listed for the 709. I would think that would result in faster action. Personally, based on the difference in tip size, I can't see the over all actions being that much different. But I have been fooled by blank dimensions in the past, so .......

Thanks David for your reply! I agree that hopefully it should not be that different with the minimal tip size change. Then again, i've also measured the actual blanks and sometimes they are off too lol. I'll probably pick it up just so its slightly different than my friend's and we can compare. Worst case i could always cut a bit off too i guess. I'll do a CCS test on it as well and share if anyone interested.
