Nymphing fly rod single foot guides

Does anyone have a favorite single foot guide for nymphing rods? I will be wrapping up a 10 foot 3 wt. I have used Pac Bay single foot guides on a fly rod before and they were fine. Just wondering if anyone recommends a particular single foot? It seems that just about all OEM specialty nymph rods these days have gone to single foot.

I prefer the Batson light wire single foot guides. I find them to be the best prepped feet of all the brands I have tried.

I'm with Phil Alps LWTCHSFGP.

For the last (or two) guide (the closer to the tip) some put snake guide to avoid line snag (when you fish only with nylon, Spanish style).

I would not use single-foot guides if I fished a lot of heavy cover. They get hung up and bent in brush. The single-footers get "hung-up" and bent much more easily than guides with two feet. Single-foot and two-foot guides work equally well casting and fishing nymphs.

I have experimented with both single-foot and snake guides. For my money, I will use snake guides every time. I don't even fish my rods with single-foot guides any more, and am considering removing them and replacing them with snake guides. Just as with everything else, snake guides come in a variety of options and quality levels. I have been using Snake Brand snake guides for a number of years now and will never use anything else ever again! They are easier to wrap, come in a variety of wire gauges, and Mike McCoy (Snake Brand owner) has a patented guide foot format that makes them the best in the world!
