I've been using the VisualWrap software for about a month now and I find that it is very helpful for creating and visualizing crosswrap patterns. However, the patterns never look exactly the same on the rod as they do in the software due to the fact that there is no way to account for thread size. If you wrap a pattern with A thread, it will look totally different if wrapped with D thread. Is there a way to account for thread size in the program? Thanks!

There is no way t account for thread size with the program, all it tells you is if you wrap this instruction, in that sequence, this will be teh result. My book has a full page on sizing patterns which explains how you would go about doing this.

Thanks Billy! I wasn't aware of the Facebook group but I will definitely check it out. I actually have your book so I looked for the page you referred to, and of course, I had only made it to the page prior to that one. Guess I should have read a little further. Once I started playing with the software, I became more focused on learning that. For me, the best way to learn a new program is usually to just dive right in. I'll keep reading and hopefully it will answer my question. Thanks!

THe program is extremely powerful, but you have to pour some time into it, and understand it's limitations and work around them. THe problem you have is somethign that everyone runs into when they start using VW. THat page in my book is confusing, but if you can decipher it and figure out how to count threads, you can start to really dial in teh exact size of a wrap to a particular sized blank. HAve fun!!!
