Ergo spinning reel seats

I'm ordering new spinning rods and have always used Fugi reel seats. Anyone like these new ergo seats enough to build spinning rods with 'em?

What ergo seats? To my way of thinking they are to small, give me a GBS Pac Bay 18 exposed blank, or a Fuji NPS 20, or 22 built threads up for multi- all day comfort. Anything bling with the insert I have handled are to small and I have short fingered hands.

I always used Fuji in the past but came across Alps. Take a look at them. I now use Alps and Fuji.

Ok, just thinking out of the box here. I'll take a peek at Alps. I'll give Mudhole a buzz and ask if they take returns, may have to look at one of the ergo thingies first.

I have built with similar seats, and while they are comfortable, I just cannot take how ugly they are. Just my opinion, of course. But give me an up-lock Fuji DPSSD in size 17. It's comfortable, doesn't get the fingers onto threads, use a small ramp off the front, and it's beautiful, functional, ergonomically correct, and very sensitive.

I have considered the Alps Rapid spin seats but I'm not willing to pay how much more they want for them than a Fuji DPSM or DPSD seat which I always use in the 18 MM size. I don't think ALPS lists the overall weight of the seats either which is what I always look for . They're very nice looking seats for sure.

As far as the other manufacturers of graphite reel seats, most mimic Fuji's seats imo and Fuji's seats are so inexpensive and have never failed me so I stick with them. I'm not a fan of 'Soft touch' seats.

I saw that! Very nice indeed.

Fuji seats are a little cheaper than Alps but the Alps seat comes with the graphite insert and arbors. You will have to order the locking part tho. In my opinion, Fuji and Alps are close with Alps a little better quality and looks.
