Butt cord | Super thinned cork | Something else

Hello,

It's me again, I'm looking to refinish my 13'6" lamiglas honey.
The butt cord on it is fine, but I was thinking about switching it up with something different.
Is it a bad idea to try can fit cork onto a large butt like that?
I want to bring the foregrip down a bit so I can show off the logo.

I'll get the ID and OD of the butt shortly. Should have thought of that first... probably will be able to solve this as I'm not finding a bunch of large diameter cork grips and Idk if cork tape is a good idea..

Brandon,
Without knowing the diameter of the blank where the grip will be, as Kevin stated, cork tape is certainly a prospect. Additionally, X-shrink tubing will provide a very durable handle. While cork tape and shrink tubing will add weight, it may be advantageous on such a long rod to assist “balancing”.

I just measured the butt end and it is 1.25" OD.
I was looking at shrink tubing but wasn't sure if it would look cheesy or not.

Brandon,
In that case, I have a number of “cheesy” looking saltwater rods. Got crackers and wine?

Well, I also was looking at this carbon fiber sleeve that is 1.25 diameter. I would not be able to have anything in between the sleeve and the fiberglas. Is that bad for the fiberglass to have epoxied carbon fiber directly on it?
