I just got some Madeira polyester thread and was wondering if anyone puts a small piece of it in their finish before applying. I've heard both sides and was wondering what most builders do. I think it's supposed to prevent fish eyes, but not sure.

Hi Jack, I have been using Madeira for many years, and have never found the need to use the method you mention. However I do apply two coats of color preserver prior to applying the finish coat.

Thanks Pat, just trying to avoid any problems as this is my first time using Madeira. Appreciate you comment.
