Love those spiral wraps, was trying to explain it to my neighbor one day and he cannot get passed the layout. Said it looked gimmicky....Cant convince everyone. Have them on all of my casting rods now.

I agree with you Jay, I look at mine and still have to remind myself that it looks odd, but it's a better way. People are used to seeing the guides on top. And we've seen lots and lots of them! Can't convince anyone either, but I know how mine are built.

I remember the first time I saw a spiral wrapped rod at an expo about 20 years ago now. My buddy and I chuckled as we walked by. I wish I would have stopped at that rod builder's booth and got an education. It may have set me on this path a few years earlier. In any case, I eventually did my homework, and I'll be hard pressed to put guides on top of a casting rod again.
