Hi All-
New rod builder here. I just learned on a Sully's, and really like the system, but am hoping to pick one up used to save a little money. Anyone have one sitting around they don't use anymore? Happy Holidays. Re: WANTED: Used Sully's Rod Wrapper

Chad,
A Sully wrapper is very easy to build. Take a bit of time, and build a Sully wrapper knock off in some spare time. Take care Re: WANTED: Used Sully's Rod Wrapper

By the way, here is a wrapper that I made many years ago and used it to build many many rods:
[www.rodbuilding.org] [www.rodbuilding.org] Basically, the wrapper consists of a single 1x4 with a slot milled down the center of the board. Then, each rod support is made using a base of plastic cutting board, some aluminum bar stock to from a vertical and a horizontal member and shower door rollers with hardware O rings on the rollers to cushion the rods. You might check out the buy-sell page here, there's a tab in the black banner above. Maybe that will lead to something. Look at some other forums? Re: WANTED: Used Sully's Rod Wrapper

I use a couple V-blocks clamped to my desk and a fly tying bobbin to hold thread tension with a washer or two slipped over the bobbin for added weight/tension..the V-blocks are mounted over the desk edge allowing free movement of the bobbin to the left or right..gravity and the bobbin supply more than enough thread tension to back up also..it,s a very mobile set-up..all i need is a table and two or more C-clamps..
