Clear coat for custom paint reel seat?

I read that only automotive grade paint has surface hard enough for clear coat (for painting reel seat, reel, etc...). But when I look for it there are lots of automotive grade clear coat, for car body, wheel, engine, brake, etc......I read that people use this Dupli Color Perfect Match clear coat (designed for car body) but I cannot find it. I can find the Dupli Colour wheel clear coat though, what are their differences ? Can I use it for reel seat?

I researched this recently and bought some on Amazon. What I bought was Spray Max 2K Clear Glamour. it may not be practical for your application as it is expensive $22 per can and once it is activated you have to use it all within 48 hours. I bought it to finish a couple of painted rods, but I haven't tried it yet as I am waiting until I have about 5 rods to cover.

I used the same 2k and it worked great - I build a 3 sided box, then used a 100 rpm motor to spin the rod while I coated it - 3 times. The motor was at one end outside of the box.Then to be safe - I put an exhaust on the back of the “paint booth” ???? out of a 12v blower used for inboard motor compartments. It was placed behind ac filters to catch the overspray . Also wore a respirator. Don’t breathe it !

The Dupli Color stuff is available at my local NAPA Auto parts store.
