2 piece fiberglass spin blank

I have been wanting to build a light or med. light spinning rod on a 2 piece fiberglass blank but can't find one. I know Lamiglas makes some fiberglass blanks so looked on their site. They had some fly blanks that I would have tried but every one is sold out. Does anybody have an idea where I can look? Do any of you all have feelings or opinions on fiberglass builds? Thanks!

Seeker builds a bunch of them in S glass, different powers and lots of lengths.

Todd
All these are CTS Glass spinning rods:

HI Herb,

Yes I think it would be Slipstream Quartz - only 1-piece are in the standard range (online) but also have these in 2-piece;

EZ602-2 3/16 - 1/2oz NZD190 plus paint

EZ605-2 3/8 - 1oz NZD210 plus paint

EZ662-2 3/16 - 1/2oz NZD200 plus paint

EZ663-2 1/4 - 5/8oz NZD205 plus paint

EZ703-2 1/4 - 5/8oz NZD220 plus paint

If any tickle your interest - email for your price.

Todd,
Don’t get me started! I prefer FG over CF for the Fish-Fighting-Fun-Factor for my freshwater trout rods and its ultimate toughness for saltwater rods as well. A FG fly blank can make an awesome spin rod, even if there are those who proclaim such will be “sloppy” feeling; to each his own. Try it, you’ll like it!

My favorites are CcS, and Epic. If you don't want to pay as much, Echo make great fiberglass kits for rod building as well.

Hi, all. New here. Been lurking on and off for some time.

I too am wanting to build a glass rod, preferably 1pc S-Glass: a casting rod to mimic some of the old vintage rods. I'm looking for a translucent, not painted, blank.

I'm not so keen on the bright orange MHX blanks. I checked the Seeker S-Glass suggested above but there are no images so I cannot tell what they look like. I see lots of pretty blanks on overseas sites, but nearly all are multi-piece fly rod blanks. Spin blanks on Alibaba provide no specs, or quality references.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Paul

Paul, I think Epic has the look you want. See if it is so it helps us understand what you want. Epic is fly rod only though, or at least I think so. Might not hurt to ask them.

Here's a link to something interesting: CTS CrystalGlass [ctsfishing.com]

Epic looks a bit opaque, with shiny finish.

It appears that the fiberglass "Quartz" blanks are no longer listed on their site.

OK... I was wrong about the CTS Quartz spin blanks. The CTS S-Glass spin rod page IS working! However, what comes up is a graphic that looks like a 'missing page' graphic. Just have to scroll down. I think they might want to change that.
