Zentron is not glass but until I try this rod out I am not writing it off as a gimmic.

The manufacturer of Zentron, AGY, states this, “758 ZenTron roving consists of numerous L or T filament (14 or 25 micron) continuous glass strands, gathered without mechanical twist in a single bundle and treated with an epoxy-compatible sizing”. Being a type of glass doesn’t necessarily make it low performance or “old school”. I would think that the NEO could make for a fine large crankbait rod. It might also be a decent rod for you to use for rockfish.

for those who have tried the NEO blank

how would you compare it to a graphite-glass composite blank

lighter/heavier?

lighter/heavier tip weight (balance)?

more or less sensitive?

faster or slower recovery time?

I have built on 2 Neo blanks. It’s just different than all othersI have fished. It’s great for moving baits. Crankbaits, spinner/chatter baits, I love it for my swim jigs! Can easily pitch with it. I cut3 inches off the butt of my second build really like it for both Texas rig and 1/2 oz jig applications. If I had to pick one blank only to build on this might be it. Very different and very innovative.
