The LRV series are similar to the height of KW guides, and were designed to be used as casting/running guides on surf rods and other saltwater rods. The RV6 is 12.9 mm high and was specifically designed as a stripper guide for most KR casting rods. It is quite different from the LRV6, which is 8.6 mm high and was designed as a running guide.

Thank you Norman, could it be used on a 10 ft surf rod maybe, plan on building one of those in the future, probably a 4500 series spinning reel.

Think of the LRV as a reverse LN of the past. LN, and LRV are lighter framed guides than the KW. For surf rod builds, I would stick with KW but LRV as runners on a spinning rod would withstand the forces just fine and provide a really unique look on the project. LRV is a top-of-the-line choice on bass and inshore rods of any power where a double foot guide is needed, and it's a true K-Series guide with double-slope tangle-free design.

Jim, I know you are putting together a new updated Anglers Resource catalog, so I hope you realize the heights given in the past catalog for the LRV guides are incorrect. I noticed the LRV heights are correct in your height compassion chart. So I assume you know about this error in the old catalog, but this is just to make sure.
