Reel foot Hood

A guy called me and told me the the reel foot hood pulled away from the cork ring on his fly rod. He was landing a coho. It appears as though all I need to do is to re-glue it for him. Is that correct? It seems too simple a fix. Am I missing something?
Thanks

I know little about fly rods but if nothing else is broken and it will function after being glued and will remain glued, there's not much more you can do. Clean it up a bit and glue it.

Bruce,

Two possibilities:
1. Whole reel seat broke loose from the arbor. What kind of arbor did you use?
What kind of epoxy did you use to glue the seat to the arbor?

2. The reel seat hood became unglued from the reel seat barrel?
What kind of a reel seat did you install? A one piece seat or - a skeleton seat and wood spacer.
What kind of epoxy did you use to glue the hood to the barrel or the wooden spacer?

I didn't build the rod and I've only seen a short video of the problem, myself. I will see it in person this afternoon. I can post better questions then. I jumped the gun.

Well I got to look at the rod a few hours ago. The reel seat is turning and the hood is moving with it so I guess I'll have to remove it and epoxy it again. The video is on the way.
