Fluorescent Thread Fading?

Hello,
I’m wondering if anyone has found a fluorescent (neon) thread and/or coating that does not fade much if any over time/sun exposure. I know that most all fluorescents are fugitive (fade) over time/use, it’s just their nature. But some colors fade less than others, and am not sure if some brand of coating/cp may delay the fade to some extent. Is there a specific brand/color/coating that someone has found to stay comparatively vibrant over time/use? Thanks, Craig Re: Fluorescent Thread Fading?

Historically, poly thread like Fuji, are considerably more colorfast than the nylons, but I haven't used enough glow colors to know if it holds true with them. Re: Fluorescent Thread Fading?

In our testing, the key to keeping any thread from fading is the thickness of the epoxy. The thicker the better for color retention in thread. Regards. Fluorescent colors fade faster as the pigment or dye are less stable. Due to wave length differences colors fade at different rates, with red being the fastest and blue the slowest.
A coating with UV inhibitors will slow the fading, but only slightly. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/29/2020 10:52PM by Phil Erickson. Re: Fluorescent Thread Fading?

Phil, are you sure about blue? Every blue area of every flag I've ever flown has faded faster than the other colors. Many posts on this forum have mentioned the fast deterioration of blue metallic thread. The blues in my custom decals printed on inkjet printers seem to fade faster than other colors. I have no hard data, but am skeptical based on personal experience. Re: Fluorescent Thread Fading?

Blue goes first in my experience. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
