Anyone having problems with the new Thread Master finish? I'm having slow to dry problems, and leveling issues.

Jack, when you refer to the new Threadmaster finish I assume you're referring to the the stuff now owned and sold by Mudhole. I have a 4oz. kit of lite build that I haven't tried yet, and have been hoping against hope that the formula had gone unchanged from the original product. Can you provide a bit more info? Thomas, with all due respect, "use Gen4" doesn't help much here.

Look at the finish in your mixing cup. Is it flat-level across the top? If so there is no issue with leveling, at least on the finish's end of things. Curing time is usually a function of temperature. Seasons are changing and if you work in a shop that does not have a constant household temp the cure time could be increased by a lot. Just some things you can look at.

Its the same formula. We know Thread Master and Prokote to be the best finishes we have tested on the market (best IMHO meaning least yellowing, flexible, light refraction, working time, clarity as proven on the laboratory bench as well as extensive field use and testing). Do your own due diligence but this is what we have learned in thousands of experiences with first time users as well as feedback from the most experienced rod builders around the world.
