KB guide heights

The Fuji height chart shows 2 different size 5.5 KBs. 5.5, (7.3 mm) and 5.5L, (8.2 mm). I have a 5.5 and it does measure 7.3mm high. I do not have a 5.5L to compare, but I would have thought the L stood for low. I am confused. Anybody?

They are two different Fuji guide models. The KL5.5L is in the same model as the KL-H , KL-Ms and other KL-L, and are used as reduction guides. The KB5.5 is in the KB/KT model and are used as running guides. The KB guides have a longer and wider foot and are used in the midsection (belly) of the rod, The KT guides have a shorter and thinner foot and are used in the tip section of the rod.

Did you miss speak about what you have? There are not different heights of KB's. Are you talking about the reduction guides? KL's? Unless I'm missing something.

I'm talking about KB runners. (belly guides) I'm looking at the guide height comparison chart from Anglers Resource. [anglersresource.net]

While the 5.5L does appear on the height chart, it doesn't look like AR offers them. So I guess the question remains, why would the 5.5L be taller than the 5.5? But I guess its a moot point. Thanks guys.

Ok, I see what you are talking about. Never head of a KBL, the chart has it as the same height as a KT6, so I think it may be a typo, there is now a KB6 and it should be the same height as the KT 6.

I guess AR's just trying to drive me nuts. The website doesn't even even list BCKBAG (BCGrey Alconite) but they are in the catalog and I know they have them cause I'm sittin' here looking at 2 of them. Have a good holiday, and thanks for the replies.

I think that the entry of 8.2 is an error in the chart. There should be no entry in that box. There is only one 5.5 KB. IMO

There is a phone number offered.

That is what we refer to in the business as a "typo". The 8.2 should appeear on the size 6 row. There is no KB-L
