Kind of looks like an old DHG guide missing the rings. Good luck. Re: Mystery Fuji Guide - Size 10

I pretty sure Spencer is correct. I think the ceramic ring was held in place with a plastic shock ring. They have probably been discontinued for decades, but I’m pretty sure you can still find some on the @#$%& sites. Someone here might have some stashed away in a dusty corner of their shop. Modern guides are much nicer, unless you want an authentic restoration.

Could a Pac Bay BHG could be a suitable replacement? It's still available from Netcraft.

The Fuji DHG guides I remember, were low profile guides used as strippers for fly rods, but it has been a long time since I’ve seen one.

Norman is correct. It's not a DHG. It's essentially the same frame style as a USG, which was a later style in SIC ring that set directly into the frame. The guide you show had a nylon shock shock ring encapsulating an aluminum oxide insert. Re: Mystery Fuji Guide - Size 10

Fuji "UNG" Hardloy Boat Rod Guide with High Frame Design UNG10 Bright.USG was a Gunsmoke finish with a SIC insert. Dennis J. Danku (Sayreville,NJ) Re: Mystery Fuji Guide - Size 10

I just referred this question to our resident historian, Donnie Paul. I will report his comments. Re: Mystery Fuji Guide - Size 10

Jess, I'm assuming there are some other guides on this rod that are still intact. If so, a photo of one of them might have helped the guys identify the type. I know, I'm a day late and a dollar short again! Re: Mystery Fuji Guide - Size 10

here is a pic of what it looks like with a ring in it
[www.rodbuilding.org] someone said it could be a CULG-10 that has a hardloy insert Re: Mystery Fuji Guide - Size 10

Certainly looks like Hardloy to me. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
