Fly blank

Just finished my first build, a light shining rod. I want to try my hand at a fly rod. I like quality fast action rods but don't want to break the on my first fly build. Probably start with a 5wt for throwing heavy opst lines. Any suggestions? Thanks. Gary.

If you build on a "price-point" blank - and you come to like fly fishing - the ]first rod will sit in your closet - a waste of $.
IMO you should build on a quality blank. If it turns out to be not to your liking you can rebuild it,

Sounds as though you are a perfect candidate for a CTS fly blank. Quality and performance at a reasonable price.

Thanks. I'm already an experienced fly fisherman just new to building.

Edit. Herb, sent you an email.

You cannot go wrong with the CTS blanks, if the cost and wait meet your needs. If not, the Batson Eternity 2 is a very good fast action blank as well.
