Bought 4 4' shop lights on sale for $12 each and just installed one. I had tubes and these are so much brighter, 4000 lumens. The name is "Hyper Tough". Re: Shop light.

Alex,
I presume that you are referring to these or similar lights? [www.walmart.com] If so, I purchased one of these a couple of years ago and hung one in my "dirty shop" where I do my lathe work. I agree that the lights are very bright and do a very good job to illuminate your work space. Also, in my case, since it is a normally non heated building where the light is hanging and I will work through out the bitter cold MN winter, I will often turn the lights on, before the shop is up to temperature with the shop heat. With the LED type light, the light will start and run, even when the temperature around the light is -20F. Florescent tube lights with normal ballasts will not start when the temps are that cold. Good tip. Take care Re: Shop light.

Alex,
I did have to chuckle one winter day when I was working in the shop on the lathe. I had my shop heat on, and I have several fans to move the air in the shop. As shown in the previous link this is a 4 foot light that is hanging from the ceiling by a pair of chains. As I was working I noticed that the light in the work area was changing, I glanced up and saw that the light was moving back and forth about a foot due to the light weight of the light and the fans in the shop on to move the heated air to all parts of the shop. So, to stop the light movement, I grabbed a small electrical cord with alligator clips on each end to clip to the shade at one end, and a shelf support at the other end to keep the light from swaying in the breezes from the shop fans. No more changing light patterns due to the swaying light. Be safe Re: Shop light.
