Hey fellas,
Any of you building with Arctos blanks? These seem to be thin and light-weight for their performance parameters compared to other brands of blanks I've seen. AMC996-2 ARCTOS MUSKY 8’3” 2PC FAST, HEAVY 8’3” Line 25-50 Lure 1-4oz 2 piece Fast Action 6.5 tip 0.57" butt 3.19oz blank weight: I recently built my muskie rod on this and it seems to perform to expectations. ASP1055-2 ARCTOS SPINNING 8’9” 2PC FAST, MEDIUM 8'9" Line 8-20 Lure1/2-2 1/2oz 2 piece Fast Action 5.0 tip 0.50" butt 2.95oz blank weight: Could be a nice, light weight and fun-to-fish pike rod ASA1053-2 ARCTOS SALMON/STEELHEAD 8’9” 2PC FAST, MEDIUM 8’9” Line 12-25 Lure 3/4-3oz 2piece Fast Action, 4.0 tip 0.48" butt 2.14oz blank weight: I find it a bit hard to believe a blank that thin and light can perform to the parameters described in the catalogue. It probably really handles a bit lighter line / lure weight. Correct me if I'm wrong. I can see making a medium-action spinning rod with this. Any thoughts on the Arctos blanks? Edited 1 time(s). I have not built any Arctos rods, but many here have given the blanks positive reviews. Re: Pac Bay Arctos blanks, anyone?

Just built on a 6'3" for a dock skipping rod. Very light weight comparable to much more expensive HM blank. It has plenty of backbone and slightly stiffer than most Med heavys. Plan on building on a 7'3" next month. I was truly impressed. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
