Can someone tell me what the tip size is for this blank? I've been having no luck with the search feature here nor Google.
Also, I haven't been on here in probably 15 years or more. It's great to see that the rod building community and this forum are still alive and well. Thank you in advance! Re: St Croix 2S6OILF tip size

Jeremy,
Measure the size of the tip with a caliper. If you don't have one, either borrow, buy, or go to a store like Home Depot or similar hardware store where their tools are on display and with the tip section in hand, simply borrow the caliper for a minute to measure the size of the tip. Then, just convert the digital measurement to 64ths of an inch that is the industry standard tip sizing unit of measure. Here is a digital to 64th of an inch conversion chart. [www.rodbuilding.org] The tip is likely to be somewhere between 4 and 7. But if it is an older blank, likely it is a size 5. Good luck Re: St Croix 2S6OILF tip size

You can buy a plastic sizing gauge for rod tips and butts online for about $6 - I.D. AND O.D - well worth the price if you do any more rod building. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/05/2020 12:58PM by Phil Ewanicki. Re: St Croix 2S6OILF tip size

Should be about 5/64. Get a 4.5, 5, and 5.5 and you should be good to go and start building a little inventory. Re: St Croix 2S6OILF tip size

The 2S60ULF is a 4.0 tip, the 2S60LF is a 4.5 tip, last I built on them. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
