Does anyone have any experience fishing the Lamiglas GSB101LS, or fishing a custom from that blank (GSB 120 1L)? I wanted to get some feedback on its power and action while whipping pencils.
I will not be cutting this blank. Thanks Re: Lamiglas GSB 120 1L

I have built some rods on this blank but it's been so long ago my memory as to any real specifics is a bit murky. I can recall that most who asked for this blank were plugging, not bait fishing. It's not a terribly fast taper, as many plugging blanks are, but seemed to work well for that purpose.
All the Lamiglas graphite surf blanks are very nice blanks. ....... Re: Lamiglas GSB 120 1L

Thank you for replying, Tom.
I really like the GSB line for plugging — I fished a 120 _2_L for many years but wanted something a bit more able to handle 3 oz, but still be versatile enough to toss a 4.5” Slug-Go on a 3/8 oz jig head. The 2L whipped pencils adequately, but the 1L seems more powerful and stiffer. Re: Lamiglas GSB 120 1L

1201L will be great for pencils and smaller metal lips and other treble hook applications but for jigs I prefer a faster action I would recommend an odm nex1 105 or the 9’ .5-3.5 nex1 for lighter lures if you aren’t set on a 10’. To me they are a better all around blank. Or the odm genesis 10’ which is rated 3/4-4 I believe. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
