Looking for any info on what motor i should use for a large drum dryer. Center shaft Would be square Tubbing with disks, using grip clips all around. Disk would have option to slide up/down center shaft.. And lock at position with set screw. Center shaft ends would go to round shaft that will then go into bearing on end. One end will extend past bearing to add HTD tooth style pulleys and belts. I would like an option to adjust speed and also a reveres. If there is such thing a a slip clutch option. That would be a plus.

Oh it would holD minimum 30 rods or similar item. I’m working on applying epoxy to tubes that have more weight than a standard fishing rod. Just for motor consideration

Actually, I think that I have a motor sitting in the corner that would work well for you. It is a right angle drive motor with a 1/2 inch output shaft that has reverse and variable speed.

Drop me an e-mail and I could verify your needs and other requirements. I used this motor for a few hours and it works fine, but it has just been sitting for some time.

This is another motor that is just sitting. I no longer use this one but it would have plenty of power to turn your dryer: This one is a 90 volt DC variable speed with reverse.

This picture illustrates the use of the square tube for the center tube, bearing at one end for support, a chuck connected to the square center shaft and then use the chuck to clamp to the shaft of the motor. The motor uses a face mount for convenience.

Looks a bit small, my concern is the torque over all weight to turn is gonna be more than just couple rods. The other link isn’t the square tube one ....

The link illustrates the drum dryer that uses a 1 inch square aluminum tube with 1/16th inch wall thickness. If you wish you could go larger - just size it up if needed. The end shafts are solid aluminum 7/8th shafts for chuck mount and bearing mount
I use a chuck in the end of the center tube to make it easy to connect the square shaft to the drive motor shaft.

May I ask what you expect the total weight of the load to be - on the dryer when it is being used?

Also, what are you using for the center drum that will be supporting your loads?
