When you find you have to sand Threadmaster HB to take out waves over a long sticker coating, do you find it best to apply a light coat of Threadmaster HB or LB over the sanded epoxy?

Any time that you have sanded a finish, it always makes sense to put a final coat over the work.

A thin coat of either HB or LB. When applying over a decal I apply the finish immediately after being mixed when it is the thinnest. Most of the problem when applying over a decal is using too much epoxy, over a long run. When applying while turning, the finish is spiraled onto the blank and this can cause waviness. It helps to stroke the finish out in a horizontal direction this will help with leveling because it knocks out the hills and valleys caused by spiraling. After applying finish, I like to stop rotation, and let it set for a minute or two and then remove any sags that may occur, and then rotate at low RPMs. This is the way I do it, and it works for me.

Sorry, Roger — I meant to imply that I know the sanded finish had to be re-coated, I was just asking if anyone found it best to use HB finish or LB finish as the final coat.

I believe that cured LB is slightly less "hard" than cured HB.
