Trim very small amount from Eva grip?

Hi guys, what would be the best way to trim about 2mm off the length of a small 50mm long grip. Purchased the grip but the rounding of rear edge is a whisker to much and does not sit against the rear butt plate nice. Need to trim 2mm off to gain a little in diameter. The grip is Eva.
Thanks Scott.

Scott

If you have a lathe, put the grip on a mandrel and get it turning at a fast rev. Use a 2' length of rod wrapping thread (and using leather gloves) pull it taut and press it down on the grip where you want to cut it.

The easiest way to do it is to simply use a power sander. A disk sander, a semi orbital sander, a pad sander, or a simple piece of sand paper held on top of a piece of wood to form a sanding block.

It doesn't take long to remove 2 mm of rod blank material with sand paper - especially if used in a power sander. 2mm is equal to .08 inches so about a half dozen strokes of a sand paper block and you will be there.

Take care

The best way to cut that small amount of eva from a grip is with the Marchisella eva cutting tool.

Thank you, I don't have a lathe but I am halfway through making a drill powered setup. Guess I will finish that and do some practice trims on some scrap Eva.
Cheers Scott

All you need is a drill motor and a drill bit to fit the hole in the EVA, spin it up and cut it.

Was also getting a set up made to do longer grips. For this short grip yes a bit in drill will work.
Thanks

Put grip on a bit in power drill and it was a piece of cake. No problems at all. Very surprised at how thin of rings you can cut.
Thanks guys.
