Eva Butt Glue ?

Hi, Had to remove a damaged EVA foam butt cap from a two piece handle that was epoxied on. Was wanting to use a glue rather then an epoxy to make removing and clean up easier for the next time. Has anyone used a glue that was strong enough, I was thinking just good old contact cement. Thanks

Contact cement would work. Good old fashioned GOOP (any type) will work on EVA to EVA. But it won't sand well if you need to do that.

Silicone caulk will work. Not very strong but easy to peel off in the future. Probable the best option is hot glue gun. Will bond plenty strong for non load bearing connection. They make some heavier duty glue sticks if you think you need it but the standard work just fine. Cleanup in the future if need be is easy. Just warmup a putty knife with a torch slightly and the glue will peel right off.

Thanks guys, the goop sounded good until the clean up. I’m going to try the glue gun as I have the sticks in different strengths . For some reason epoxy on a small Eva butt cap just seems like over kill.

Frank,
Read and understand your question.
But 5 minute epoxy takes two minutes, works well and is easy to clean up. Just a bit of heat and a razor knife and all of the old epoxy in gone to reuse the cap if that is your wish.

Really no need to reinvent the wheel when the wheel rolls down the road just fine.

Take care
