I wrapper a blue rod with orange and yellow, trying to diminish my surplus supply and I love the look. It is possible what looks good to one might be subjective to another.

Just started one this morning, using lite blue with gold since I have gold checks and gold trim on the handle. See Photos

Royal blue regular nylon without CP will turn quite dark, but will make a good combination. Then sparse silver trim. That blank is hard to figure out. IMO

Your right Michael it is hard to find a good color combo on Royal Blue and I just keep running into the same problem when I try to put a good color combo together and that problem is that no color combo really shines and sticks out on this blank.

On hard to match blank colors, I will often wrap the guides in black with a silver and metallic medium or light blue thread as trim wraps for the guides.
It seems that black will go with virtually any blank color - particularly when you can't find a perfect matching color.

You can always use the color wheel to find a nice complementary color or a nice contrasting color.

Take care

Those are just colors that I was thinking of using but I was also thinking that maybe a yellow trim band would look good with the black thread.

That would look good. Regarding a color wheel, you'll find there that orange is one of the best colors to stand out on a blue blank. If you have some, try a wrap of burnt orange and see what it looks like. I know that burnt orange looks really classy on a number of shades of green, and green's not that far apart from blue.

Whatever colors you choose, keep in mind they look vastly different with and without CP! The lighter colors like yellow will be almost green on a blue blank without CP!

I have, on several occasions, used the Prowrap braid in pearl as a center for chevron and diamond wraps. Pearl tends to pick up almost any color you use. It really makes things pop IMHO...
