Conventional 12+ ft Surf Rod Guide Placement

Hello!

I have been trying to find a guide, or anything to help me determine how many guides I need on my 13' 6" Honey Lamiglas 5m surf rod.
I am going to be using a Squidder 140L with dacron backing, to mono, or dacron to braid... haven't decided yet.

I've been told these rod is for chucking huge weights, but I'm not 100% sure.

I don't understand how the GPS system works, and I think it is only for spinning reels...

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can take pictures if needed.

I'm chucking 6 oz. sputniks from the beach today - using a 12' rod and a Daiwa Sealine X-30 - a combo which has served me well for years. This rod has seven guides plus the tip-top. I use a 200 yard top-shot of #30 nylon monofilament blood-knotted to as much #50 super braid backing as the reel can hold. Works for me?

Thank you SO much! This definitely helps me A LOT. Do you remember what size guides are on the rod or have a guess by chance?

SideNote:
Do you think 20# dacron is good enough for backing with 20# mono? Should I go more than 6-7 layers, maybe bump it up to 14-16 layers? OR should I get 40# dacron?
Does mono still shrink like the old kind did? This is actually really important to me because my Squidder has a plastic spool, don't want it to snap... haha

I like to use 25, 20 ,16 and 12 x 4 or 5 for guide layout in MNAG series. Spacing will depend on the deflection of the blank. My preference is to have the collection guide around 30" up from the center of the real seat. Hope this helps.
