Applying Decals over finish

So I read on here the recommendation of applying a thin coat of finish before installing decals. So how long do I wait before putting the decals over the finish, Do I wait until the finish has completely cured or what. After watching a bunch of video and being my second rod I think the finish is going to turn out really good, I used the technique on the video from the gentleman from rod maker magazine showing the rod sitting still and applying the finish and then turning the rod and it worked really well. Alot cleaner looking job. Thanks in advance for the help.

As soon as it's not at all tacky you'll be okay. This may be 24 hours or it may be a bit longer. Don't rush it.

I use that process, and I wait until the epoxy will no longer "fingerprint:. You test this, not on the rod, but in the left over epoxy you used!

Waited 24 hours and it worked out great, applied second coat yesterday and will be ready this evening, I will give it another 24-48 hours before removing it from the dryer tent and testing it out
