I have recently gotten into the art of feather inlays but lack good sources of exotic feathers.

Can anyone suggest sources of small exotic feathers, particularly for inlaying on flyrod blanks?

Has anyone ever feather inlayed a trout fly on a flyrod blank? Please point me to source material,
articles, techniques and feathers.

Plenty of this stuff in RodMaker over the years. Willy Ricigliano's many cover photos depict much if not all of what you ask about.

Fly tying shops may be a good source for feathers, although they won't have as many as aviary's do. There was a place in the PNW some years back, Siskiyou Aviary I think, that specialized in feathers for inlays and similar.

Tried Angler's Workshop?

Siskiyou was the aviary that I used a couple years ago and was trying remember in another string on the site. They were responsive at that time. Moonlightfeather.com has some good stuff in spite of the fact that most of their stuff is not appropriate. They have some good pheasant feathers, guinea fowl, and jungle cock eyes. A little peacock, although most peacock feathers are either too big and too thick.

from my experience I wouldn't know how a trout fly could be done as a feather inlay on the blank, too thick. But it could be embedded in the grip for a very nice look. Evacuate a space big enough and use casting resin to fill the cavity with the fly in it. I think even wrap epoxy will work, since it is essentially a casting resin.
