Ive been trying to find out some more info on these blanks. Anyone have any experience with them? looking to build a tuna popping rod for fish up to 100lbs and be able to toss stickbaits and plastics. I was looking at the Silverback 40lb Jig blank but its almost 9’. their standup 40lb blank is the length im looking for at 7’10” but it doesn’t list lure weight. id like to know if this blank can handle lighter lures but still be able to fight 50-100lb bft.

On a separate note, any thoughts on wrapping this as a KR concept with RV-h 25 as a stripper? It will be paired with a stella 14000XG

Thanks

Fuji would not recommend KR Concept for a rod that heavy but...guys are doing it all the time with no problem. Spinning guide forces are such that there will be no torsional force and only minimal downward force spread across all the guides. KR guides are small ring, high frame so consider the angling situation you will be in - not so much the power of the fish but the brutal offshore environment you will be subjecting the rod to. You will also reach a point where a smaller stripper will have trouble handling the stiffness of heavy braid or mono/fluor and you will be sacrificing the advantages you built for in the first place. If you're satisfied none of these things will be a factor - go for it.
