While I have read the article before, I am taking the time here to commend Tom on a well written and informative article that every rod builder should keep on file to be easily shown to a customer returning a broken rod. Allow me to offer an often overlooked cause of stress-riser inducing nicks to a rod’s surface; placing a bunch of rods in a rod tube to be “safely” transported to ones fishing destination. Unless put in individual socks, guides of one rod will rub against blanks of another and the vibration imposed during transportation enhances the ability of the guide to adversely mar the surface of an adjacent rod = always use rod socks! Of course, simple instruction of proper usage, transportation and storage of rods at the time of delivery can greatly reduce the number of rods returned due to breakage. Thanks also to Norman for affording a link for everyone to easily view the article. Mark Talmo FISHING IS NOT AN ESCAPE FROM LIFE BUT RATHER A DEEPER IMMERSION INTO IT!!! BUILDING YOUR OWN SIMPLY ENHANCES THE EXPERIENCE. Re: Tom K.- Pics of rod breaks

T Tom, I suggest that a copy be placed in the site library. I believe there are enough requests to warrant it's inclusion. Re: Tom K.- Pics of rod breaks

Can't afford it just now. Spent a ton of money on this forum last year moving to a dedicated server and some new software pieces. Maybe at some point in the future.
................. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
