North Forks composites spin blanks

Hi! Hope you all are healthy and safe! I want to know what you all think of North Forks Composites IM spin blanks. I am almost finished on a build on a 7' light. I have built on Lamiglas in the past and I think the North Forks is very similar in appearance and taper. The load feels similar. They also come from the same city. Any comments? Thanks

Thanks Roger! I will be excited to use it. NFC had some blanks marked down so I bought. So far it is turning out good.

I think maybe you all thought I was questioning whether or not NFC and Lamiglas is the same blank. That wasn't my thinking. I have read on here posts from people asking who makes who's rods out of what companies blanks. An example...I have a couple Cabelas fish eagle rods. I think they are pretty good every day rods for $69 and sometimes $59. I couldn't build the same rod for that price...not even close. They claim to be 54mil modulus. Thats actually pretty high and I know a lot more rides on the quality other than modulus rating. So my question was more of how good NFC rods are. They claim Gary Loomis name and ideas into the rod. Should be a pretty good rod. So does anybody have experience with the IM series NFC spin blank and the Lamiglas GP1000 spin blank to compare? Thanks!

I learn a lot from you posters. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience with others. I have maybe at most built 20 rods. Still have tons of questions and need improvement in a lot of areas.

Build the rod on the nfc blank and use it to catch 10 years worth of fish and after using the rod for the next 10 years, give us a product evaluation.

In a nutshell; it really matters not what others think of a blank or a finished rod. It is only the user of the rod that makes the determination for his fishing style and his success or lack of success due to the particular rod in question for the way that the particular individual uses the rod.

Folks speak of a gram here or there in weight difference. They speak of a different color or feel of a particular rod. They speak of long rods, short rods, stiff rods, soft rods and every variation in between.

But, at the end of the day, how do you feel about a particular rod for your specific fishing technique and species of fish that you are targeting. Nothing else really matters.

Enjoy and be safe

OK....that's something I wanted to hear. I don't like the idea change of 4 piece fly rods or one piece spin rods. I don't think I am good enough to tell the difference in feel in a one or two piece rod. And...I hate transporting rods hanging out my car window. However, I do like to know how people liked a certain rod and the quality of manufacturing of blanks. Puts me a little further ahead in ideas. If there were no body to ask questions to or get experience from...I'd be lost. Thanks Rog.

I use both manufacturers. I use NFC for my bass and walleye customers and Lamiglas for my trout and salmon guys. NFC has been treating me very good lately so I've been pushing them more. I have a few guys that have absolutely fallen in love with their Xray blanks.

Thanks Mark! As I said, I have built on and fished with Lamiglas and like it but am not yet finished with the NFC. Both 7' light, 2 piece so I should be able to do a comparison.
