I have been using the one-can, two-part spraymax epoxy paint for refinishing some older rods. Only used the clear version but the company will custom color a can for a slight uncharge. Just wondered if anyone has done this and what your results were.Thx.

The product was originally intended for high-end spot color repairs on automobiles so I'd assume it would be more than fine on a fishing rod.

I used it and it turned out to be the best paint job I've done on my blanks. With the original Factory coat on the blanks the rods would always come apart. After using the spray max , I found that it stuck together the entire day. it wasn't necessary to continuously reattach the rod. The coating is extremely hard but flexible, very tough. Out of all the different spray paints that I've used, spray max is by far the best.
