Reelseat recommendation for black hole rod build

Hi everyone,

I searched and could not find any info.

I am building a black hole b-661hmf (first non fly rod build). And I am looking for reel seat recommendations.

I looked at the Fuji ACSM seats and they are too smalll for the Avet sxj that I will be using.

I also looked at the Fuji pts series, but I am having an issue with the insert. Ordered 2 and both won’t fit.

I have read that aluminum seats should not be used for a slow pitch blank Is that true? Was looking at the alps AT trigger (aluminum)

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I see no reason aluminum would not work on any rod. Are you sure the size 17 ASCM won't work? Size 17 has larger bore diameters. What is the blank diameter at the seat?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, the location on the blank were I am planning to put the seat is between 10.5 and 11 mm depending on how long I want the handle. So I am trying to avoid the exposed blank route.

If the Ave has a standard saltwater sized reel foot you'll need a bigger reel seat to fit. My saltwater reels need at least a 20 mm reel seat for the reel to fit.

I will double check but I'm pretty sure I'm using a size 17 seat with my Avet sxj. i will update my post tomorrow.
