I have been intrigued by the use of fly rod seats I've seen on centerpin rods. Is there any reason why it would be a bad idea? I have a few friends I want to surprise and make some truly one off rods for them. Re: Fly seat for centerpin

My centerpin reel is the same size as my fly reels, blank diameter would be my concern, Ferguson style , larger diameter reel seats designed for spey rods, or something similar, maybe a Lemke 25, or 26 will work I think on larger diameter blanks if using a wood, or cork insert. I don't see why not, I'd second Spencer's recommendation, Lemke and REC make some nice skeletons that have an OD of .705 or larger. Re: Fly seat for centerpin
