Any concerns with doing a tiger wrap on a light weight rod, specifically nfc sj 732 rated to jig 1/8oz. Wrap would be 3-4 inches above the foregrip. I put epoxy over the label but not happy with the look and so removed it.Would there be a noticeable decrease in sensitivity given the few extra coats of epoxy required. Thanks.

I usually do a split grip and do it on the blank area between the rear grip and the butt. It does add a little weight but I have not noticed any decrease in sensitivity. The larger part of the rod near the butt makes a better wrap just because you have more area. Also adding a little weight behind the real seat usually helps with the balance of the rod and reel. The most sensitive rod you can make will not have a painted or gloss finish, use the lightest guides possible and not have any excessive wraps or winding checks. A lot of people will build or buy a super light rod like this but not spend the extra money for a super light reel. Unless you use a light reel then the point of building a rod like this is mute.
